Sophia has created an approachable open space for contemporary art on the third floor of a historical building. As an artist that has hung and sold my collage art in Sophia’s Gallery, I am honored and truth be told a bit giddy to be a supporting part of her exciting and down to earth approach to the art world.

Sophia and her gallery have totally reawakened my creative soul. After taking a 10-year hiatus from art shows and feeling extremely nervous about not being a good enough artist, I was not only welcomed and encouraged by Sophia to submit my work, but also genuinely celebrated for my perspective and talents. That level of support meant more to me than I can express. I would have never known I had what it takes to earn a Best in Show art piece in a Lambertville gallery, and that experience has given me a newfound and deeply meaningful confidence in myself as an artist.
Sophia’s thoughtful guidance, warm encouragement, and belief in my abilities pushed me to reconnect with a part of myself I had almost let go of. I have had the good fortune of having my art shown at Sophia Stef Gallery four times since the gallery first opened. The two things that stand out most to me about this gallery are the vibrancy of the opening night receptions and the prompts the shows are centered on. During each call for submissions, I have been inspired by her prompts which have fostered expansive creativity in my own work and encouraged me to create art outside of my own comfort zone.
