Call for Entry: “One Day, One Work”

To mark Sophia Stef Gallery’s first-ever open call, artists are invited to take on a playful summer challenge.
Prompt:
Create one original piece in one day, inspired by what you see and feel in your environment. This exhibition is about process over perfection—presence, intuition, and trusting your creative instincts.
Maybe you’re drawing from the natural world you walk through each day, or simply soaking in the quiet comfort of your couch on a hot afternoon. Whether it’s fifteen minutes or a full day of focused making, the goal is to tune in and create from wherever you are.
All styles, mediums (including 3D), and experience levels are welcome. Artists receive 80% commission on works sold!
Guidelines
Submit up to 3 original works
$35 flat fee for up to 3 submissions
All pieces must be created within one calendar day
Maximum size: 30" x 36" for 2D work
Works on paper must be framed and ready to hang with proper hardware

This painting was created on a hot summer day last August. I was inspired by the fresh bursts of color contrasting to the precise angles of the sultry city below.

DEADLINE TO SUBMIT: Monday, July 28th, 12:00 AM
All requested materials must be included. Submissions will be juried only after payment is received.
JURYING PROCESS:
Only artworks that are juried into the Exhibit will hang in the Show.
Artworks will be juried by curator and owner Sophia Stefanowski. A Bucks County native, Sophia holds a degree in art history and began her career as a fine art cataloger at Rago Auctions in Lambertville. Her deep connection to the local arts community and extensive art knowledge inform every aspect of the gallery’s direction.
Exhibition Details
NOTIFICATION OF ACCEPTED WORKS: Wednesday, July 30th.
SHOW DURATION: August 7 – September 7, 2025
ART DROP OFF: Artwork must be dropped off in person by 6pm Monday, August 4th. A brief Artist contract must be signed at the time of drop off.
OPENING RECEPTION: Saturday, August 9th 4:30-6:30
CLOSING RECEPTION: Saturday, September 6th 4:30-6:30
ART PICK-UP: Artwork must be picked up in person by 6pm Sunday, September 14th.
All accepted artists are encouraged to gallery sit for at least part of one day during the exhibition.

Voting will be people’s choice, held in-gallery throughout the show.
The winning artist will be announced during the closing reception on Saturday, September 6th from 4:30-6:30.
