Works on paper often exist at the core of an artist’s practice—immediate, process-driven, and materially intimate. Sophia Stef Gallery invites submissions of original, completed works on paper that demonstrate a strong visual language.
We are seeking finished flat works in any medium, where material, gesture, layering, revision, and surface remain integral to the final composition. Drawing, collage, painting, printmaking, photography, mixed media, and experimental processes are all welcome, provided the work is presented as a resolved and cohesive piece. All works should be created exclusively in black, white, and the shades in between.
Submissions should reflect thoughtful craftsmanship, aesthetic consideration, and a developed artistic voice.

All works will be installed directly on the gallery walls; submitted pieces must be suitable for this method of display.
Artists may submit 1–3 works for consideration
$40 flat submission fee required for entry
Fee & Commission
$40 flat submission fee
70% commission to the artist on all sales (gallery retains 30%)

Important Dates
Application Deadline: Monday, June 8, 2026, 11:59PM
Notification of Accepted Works: Friday, June 12, 2026
Exhibition Dates: June 20 – July 25, 2026
Drop-Off Instructions
Drop-Off Dates: June 12 from 1–6 PM, and June 13–14 from 12–4 PM.
All accepted work must be delivered during these times
Alternative drop-off times must be arranged and approved in advance
Artists are required to sign Artist Agreement upon delivery
Late or uncoordinated drop-offs may not be accepted
Opening Reception: Saturday, June 20 | 4:00–6:00 PM. Light bites, drinks, good conversation, and plenty of art. All are welcome!
Closing Reception & Artwork Pick-Up: Saturday, July 25 | 4:00–6:00 PM. Final opportunity to view and purchase work. Any unsold pieces may be taken off the walls beginning at 5:00 PM.
If you are unable to attend the closing reception, all unsold work must be picked up by August 1st between 12:00–3:00 PM.
Any artwork remaining in the gallery’s possession after August 1st will incur a $10 per day storage fee.
Additional Opportunity: Participating artists will have the optional opportunity to gallery sit during the exhibition—a great way to engage with visitors, meet new people, and be present in the space.
