CALL FOR ENTRY: The Six Senses

Prompt:
Sophia Stef Gallery invites artists to submit up to three works for The Six Senses, a six week-long juried exhibition centered on perception and experience.
Sight, sound, touch, taste, and smell shape how we move through the world. This exhibition encourages artists to consider how their work engages one, several, or all of these sensory pathways. This prompt also leaves space for the sixth sense: intuition or the quiet knowing. The spiritual, ethereal, or unexplainable feeling that exists in all of us.
How does your work activate the body or memory? Does it suggest texture, scent, flavor, sound, or instinct? Is the sensory experience direct, implied, or psychological? Maybe it is rooted in a sense of nostalgia.
All mediums are welcome. We are seeking work that is thoughtful, immersive, and clearly connected to the theme — whether through material, concept, or emotional resonance.
Let the work be seen, heard, felt — and experienced beyond the walls and podiums.
Additionally, all selected works will be featured on our new online store! This expansion creates another avenue for purchasing and collecting art, while also allowing those who cannot visit the third floor in person to view the exhibition and its featured pieces.
Artists earn 70% commission. All mediums (sculpture, mixed media, photography, linocuts, etc.) and experience levels are welcome!
Guidelines
Approx. max size: 48” on one side (including any framing) *If your piece does not meet the exact size requirements but has met all the other parameters, please contact Sophiastefgallery@gmail.com*
Must be gallery ready (ready to hang with proper hardware, etc.)
Must be an original work done by the artist
Must pay $40 flat submission fee

• $40 flat submission fee
• 70% commission to the artist on all sales (Gallery retains 30%)

SHOW DURATION: April 18 - May 30, 2026 Exhibition
NOTIFICATION OF ACCEPTED WORKS: Friday, April 3rd
ART DROP OFF: There will be three days designated for drop-offs. April 4th, April 5th, and April 11th, all during the hours of 12-4. A brief Artist Contract must be signed at the time of drop off.
OPENING RECEPTION: Saturday, April 18th 4:00pm - 6:00pm. Live music, light fare, beverages, and of course, art! All are invited!
CLOSING RECEPTION: Saturday, May 30th from 4:00pm - 6:00pm. Last night to purchase works, connect one final time, and celebrate the show in its entirety. Artists may take home any unsold works beginning at 5pm during the closing reception.
ART PICK-UP: If you are unable to attend the closing reception/coordinate art pick-up, any remaining unsold artwork must be picked up in person by Sunday, June 7th between the hours of 12-3pm.
Additionally, participating artists will have the optional opportunity to gallery sit during the duration of the show! It's a great way to be immersed in the space, meet new people, and promote yourself.
